Babies!

I would like to introduce you to the new member of my household and my baby! This is Mochi he is a black tort holland lop rabbit. He was 8 weeks old on Wednesday and we got him yesterday! I have been learning his patterns and rearranging things to his liking for the last day. He isn't timid at all, loves my dogs and doesn't spend a lot of time hiding which is surprising because most rabbits are very cautious about their surroundings. I will be updating more and showing you his cage and how we built it in the future as I am running short on time today but I wanted to introduce him and show you all a picture!!

Until next time. ありがとうございます!

New Adventures

So as I have mentioned before I started school on Wednesday Sept 3rd. Everyone back home in Ontario thought this was weird as we always started school the day after labor day, but not here in little Prince Edward Island, always have to be different! I was quite nervous I'm not going to lie, a little too much to the point where I was feeling very sick the morning of my first classes.

All my class are held in a very old beautiful building that I've heard lots of people call creepy. I love it though, it reminds me of a all girls school building, very historic. This building being old has its up and downs, yes it is beautiful but it is very hot inside. Extremely hot. Now I'm not a tiny person by any means and when you put me up four floors in a very hot building it's not pretty. Sadly. I was not comfortable in my first class which didn't help my nerves at all. I have an issue where I think everyone is judging me which is one of the reasons why I was so scared to go back to school. To make matters even worse, this is the History floor, my major which means a ton more classes will be held in this hot, sticky, uncomfortable building. Luckily this class is less then an hour long, so it's not that terrible. I'm hoping to start some sort of an exercise/workout thing to help with my weight issue and that should help with the always being hot issue. Maybe, hopefully!

So this year I am taking a full course load which means five class for a regular bachelor of arts. Mind you if you were in the nursing part you take many more, but I'm not. Since my major is History the majority of my classes will have to do with that. I am also minoring in Asian studies. I was actually quite happy when I found out that was actually a thing. It's too bad that you can't major in it. So because this is my first year and most Universities would rather you have a "General" first year that way if you decide to change your major you aren't locked in right off the bat, so I have a bit of a variety.

First Semester consists of Canadian History pre-confederation, Chinese, Math, Psychology and Sociology. Now when I originally went to go and sign up for my classes there was other ones that were suppose to be picked but at the last minute were change. For example I was suppose to be taking Japanese instead of Chinese but the teacher had to go back to Japan and it was changed to Chinese, I was also hoping to drop psychology and pick up more Asian study course but none were offered for the first semester and I ended up with not only psychology but sociology too. And even further on a down not my sociology class is 3 hours long every Friday afternoon. -_-;;

Second semester consists of Canadian History post-confederation, Asian studies, Writing studies, Psychology 102 and Sociology 102. I seriously just realized I'm taking the second part of these courses as well, well that's a bummer. Oh well moving on.

I've been super exhausted as well. I was so use to being able to sleep in until whenever I wanted to and going to bed around 4am, because I only ever worked weekends. So switching my routine at the last minute to bed early and up at 7am every morning has been a hard task. I should have slowly moved myself into it but I just couldn't get myself out of bed early when I didn't have anywhere to be.

So plus side in all this is I get to quit my job. I luckily got enough in student loans to cover my rent for the entire term, and since I plan on attending school during the summer as well I will continue to get student loans until I am done school. I am hoping that this mean I will be able to continue dedicated 100% of my time towards my learning. It's a long shot but I do hope to try and graduate with honors. If only right?

Just a side note, I've had a few people say they were envious of the fact that I get to attend school, I mean sure it may feel good to have people jealous of you but not really. I worked really hard to be able to do this and gave up a lot as well. I moved 20 hours away from everything I know, we lost a lot. I have a very hard road ahead of me but this is what I've been trying to work towards. I have a set plan and a goal/dream that I'm working towards. Anyone can do this, you just have to work for it. It took a very long time to get to this point, I mean hell look at me I'm 27 and just started my first year of University, I should have done this 9 years ago. People should be envious of those who stayed in high school did the right thing and went straight to University right after. I didn't do that, I took the long route, stupidly and had a lot of hard times. I would rather people be proud of everything I'm doing and see all the hard work that has gone into being able to attend school then be envious as if it fell in my lap out of luck.

So today Adam and I were able to buy more pieces for the rabbit cage we are building. If you didn't know (I'm not sure if I mentioned) but we are getting a baby rabbit at the end of the month. I've wanted one ever since I had one a long time ago and I was able to find some newly born bunnies a little while ago. They are currently only 4 weeks old so we will have the little bun when he is 8 weeks old. He already has a name which a lovely friend of mine thought of and I just fell in love with - Suki. He is a black tort holland lop and was the only one of the 5 that were born black tort, like his father. We are building a cage with wire shelving wood and laminate. I will be sure to take pictures and post the process. I will also be sure to make a post on Suki when I get him! I am super excited to bring him home. It will be interesting to see how my dogs will react to him, but he will be well protected and well loved.
Until next time. ありがとうございます!

O-week

I start at the University of PEI on Wednesday which is super exciting and nerve-racking as well.  I honestly never thought I would ever get the chance to attend University as I dropped out of high school when I was young, I just couldn't stick with it. I was too busy worrying about what other people thought of me then about my future. Also I was a teenager and of course what I thought was best, not what other people told me. I don't think the whole thing will kick in until the first class that I will be in on Wednesday. Canadian History the start of many history classes. I am working towards a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Asian studies. I will be getting my second Bachelor in Education in the last year of University. I honestly think that if I had finished high school and went to University right after I wouldn't have appreciated it as much as I know I will now. I also probably would have ended up majoring in something I wasn't interested in because it took a long time to figure out what I truly wanted to do. Being a ESL teacher was always in the back of my mind but I never thought it was possible. UPEI is giving me that possibility and I plan on putting in as much effort as I can towards my goal, my dreams.

So today marks the start of O-week at UPEI. O-week stands for Orientation week for all the new students attending University. This means tons of activities, tons of new faces, and people to meet. Tons of new things being thrown at us. And tons of new adventures and advice to help us get that start we need. I may have slept in longer than I should have this morning but I eventually made my over to UPEI to put up my o-week pack. Adam came with me because like I had said I was pretty nervous and it was nice to have him there with me. I also got some information about possibly doing my last year of University abroad in Japan. That would be completely amazing.

The packs that we got were full of goodies (excuse my terrible pictures I think my camera is dying on my phone sadly)

The bag they all came in

Some of the items in back, The o-week pack, a water bottle, o-week t-shirt and bandana. Mine is blue because I was on the Blue team. Would have been awesome to be on the orange team though haha.

Inside the -pack was lots of items! We have from left to right, top to bottom. Purex laundry detergent, purex crystals laundry enhancer, tresemme travel size conditioner, Velveeta mac and cheese, KD mac and cheese, Raspberry rain skintimate shaving cream, Dial hand lotion, Blistex in raspberry lemonade, Biore pore strip, Nescafe 3-1 coffee sticks, A shaver, Skittles, Trojan Condom, calamari and tzatziki chips, three pack of shampoo, conditioner and smoothing creme, vanilla almond tea, 5 react gym pack, and a sucker.
There were also many papers included about our health plans and so on that aren't pictured.

So my first class is Canadian History at 8:30 am on Wednesday. All my classes except for two are all held in this beautiful old historic building. It is so creepy but beautiful all at the same time. It is also the main building an only a 5 minute walk from my house so that will be pretty easy to get to every morning! I have so many new things coming this month, I can't wait to write about it all and keep everyone who is interested updated!

Until next time - ありがとうございます!

Tall Ships

The tall ships were docked in Charlottetown this week. It was amazing to see such beautiful well maintained old style ships face to face. I am such a History loving person the whole thing was just so exciting. I took many pictures of the ships, random bits of each ship and the water. Enjoy!

I have also picked out a new pet to join us in our home, a bunny! We have already named it and working very hard to set up a cage that we are building from scratch. We don't think out little black tort holland lop until the end of Sept but I am super excited.
I start school on Wednesday Sept 3rd as well which is very exciting but I am also VERY nervous!
Until next time - ありがとうございます!

Reviews!

As it rains outside I figured I would do my two major reviews today, both things I am absolutely inlove with. I am not being sponsored in anyway for either reviews these are honest and true opinions. Lets kick off with a great book!

  The Maze Runner

 photo maze_zpsc19d14e8.png
Product Description from Amazon

If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human. When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone. Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade. Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive. Everything is going to change. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying. Remember. Survive. Run.

Oh man was this book good. I finished it in only a couple days, which says a lot considering I was working a lot during that time. I recently found out that I am more likely to pick up about based around a dystopia type atmosphere.

Dystopia
an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one.

For example books like Hunger Games or Divergent. If you enjoyed those books then Maze Runner is right up your alley. Just like the description the book revolves around a boy named Thomas who is thrown into a giant Maze with a bunch of other boys but doesn't know who he is or why he is there and most importantly how to get out. I sadly can't say too much without giving too much of the book away I just suggest that you pick it up and give it a read. I have already dove head first into the second of the trilogy and am eating that one up just as fast as the first. This book is also being made into a movie [surprise surprise] set to be released in Sept 2014. Although I'm sure it won't be as good as the book because they never are I am quite excited for it.

Jamberry Nails!!!

The story of Jamberry Nails begins with three sisters who possess distinct personal tastes, but share a love for style. After an expensive afternoon together at the nail salon, Lyndsey, Christy and Keri vowed to find a simpler, more cost effective way to keep their hands looking polished, while still spending time together. After lots of trial and error, the proprietary nail wraps of Jamberry Nails launched in late 2010. The DIY, at-home application and incredible variety of designs caught on quickly and sales soared. A new era of nail art was born. Gone are the days of nails that chip and flake after only a few days! Gone are the days of the single colored manicure. Gone are the mani/pedis that take all afternoon and most of your cash too! Jamberry nail wraps arm you with style and confidence while demanding very little of your time or money.

That's right ladies, an inexpensive vinyl nail wrap that actually looks AMAZING and stays a long time. No more wasting money on terrible acrylic or gel nails or watching your freshly painted nails chip. How about NO DRY TIME!
I got these in the mail yesterday after ordering them during a party that my friends mom was holding only a week ago [to Canada the shipping was super fast! and cheap!] I was so excited to try them out. I was a little scared about the application process because I didn't want to wreck them at all but it was super easy. Find the size that fits your nail, cut it down, heat, apply and file away the extra. It was so easy. I am not a girly girl at all and I also hate sitting there trying to [failing to] paint my nails, for them only to chip within a couple hours because I am CONSTANTLY on my computer typing away. I was able to apply these wraps and console my dog half way through because of the fireworks outside and not worry about things getting wrecked. I have completely fallen in love with them!

These were the wraps that I ordered using the buy three get one free!
