I purchased this book with my own money from indigo as part of the boxset for the trilogy.

I will try very hard not to give too much detail away!

This book was amazing, I was sucked in from the very beginning. The author has an amazing way of creating this magical world around you bit by bit. I had no problem imagining each scene and the people in it. Each character was described in amazing detail, I felt that I knew each one of them very well. I quickly picked out which ones were my favourite and was was hurt when certain ones died. 

This book follows a group of friends/thieves/allomancers/other things who are trying to overthrow the Lord Ruler to make their lives better. There are many different types of people in this book but they are broken up into two groups, the nobility which obviously have the good lives, rich, and never really bothered by anything, and then there are the skaa, these are the slaves, hunted down if have powers, etc. I really don't want to give too much away.

My favourite characters were the main people in the rebellion, with Vin, Kelsier and Sazed being on the top. I loved all of their personalities and the father/daughter relationship that developed between Kelsier and Vin.

Favourite part about the whole thing - the magic system. The author has made this completely unique and amazing way for people to use magic. Again I don't want to give too much away!

I know a lot of people are intimidated by the size of the book, I mean it has over 600 pages but honestly if you love high fantasy and haven't picked this up yet I highly suggest you do. It was an amazing read and I can't wait to get into the next one. I finished this book in under two weeks while doing exams, haha. I will be doing a group read for the second one in June if anyone is interested in joining (18+) comment down below.

Brandon Sanderson has become an auto-buy author for me. I currently own four of his books and am excited to own more!

Brandon Sanderson was born in 1975 in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a child, Brandon enjoyed reading, but he lost interest in the types of titles often suggested to him, and by junior high he never cracked a book if he could help it. This changed when an eighth-grade teacher gave him Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly. 
Brandon was working on his thirteenth novel when Moshe Feder at Tor Books bought the sixth he had written. Tor has published Elantris, the Mistborn trilogy and its follow-up The Alloy of Law, Warbreaker, and The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance, the first two in the planned ten-volume series The Stormlight Archive. He was chosen to complete Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series; 2009’s The Gathering Storm and 2010’s Towers of Midnight were followed by the final book in the series, A Memory of Light, in January 2013. Four books in his middle-grade Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians series were released by Scholastic, and his novella Infinity Blade Awakening was an ebook bestseller for Epic Games accompanying their acclaimed Infinity Blade iOS video game series.
